Reasons You May Procrastinate

This Dojo Member letter covers five common reasons to procrastinate and three questions to ask yourself to win big this week.

I hope you are doing well and have something interesting and fun lined up for the weekend. Remember that you get to define fun and then take the necessary steps to go have the fun that makes sense to you.

It is minus 28 degrees Celsius today here. These cold days help me turn inside and sit is a warm room with a few pens, journal and some great books. I think that is one type of fun.

I was pondering where we are at in the year so far...

...thinking about conversations I have had with different people who for one reason or another felt guilty about not "getting into gear" or "crushing it", or whatever aphorism you come up with.

The reality is that there are five really common, or deadly reasons that cause procrastination at this time of year.

Please see the analog mind map below. In a digital first world, "analog" can be a fancy word for "hand forged".

Top 5 Reasons We Procrastinate

In case you can't see the reasons to procrastinate mind map, here are the top five reasons you may be wrestling with some procrastination this week:

•Lack of ________________
•Unreal _______________
•Fears of _________ or _________
•Poor or no _______________
•Life's _________________ or ___________________

Here's how you can win big in the week to come:

1. Pick one factor from the list

2. Ask yourself two questions
          A. How is this true for me?
          B. How is this false for me?

3. What's your next best step?

That's it. This will surely get you going in a strong, productive direction.

I love reading your insights and shares when you reply. I look forward to talking with you.

Domo Arigato,
Shane
