a.k.a "The Innovative Samurai"
Yes, I am a samurai.
I hold the rank of 4th degree black belt in the Japanese martial art of Aikido. This study has taught me how to bring focus & discipline into my work while capitalizing on opportunities and persevering through challenges.
Transferring these skills and mindsets to business has been invaluable to me and I know the process can help you too. Don't worry, you won't have to step into a Japanese Dojo (Training Hall) to learn the lessons that I am excited to share with you.
The Monday Everything Changed For Me
There I was in 1996. I owned a local eatery and catering company. Two years after buying the business and quadrupling sales, my vision was to expand to ten more locations until one Monday morning.
Lunch sales produced 70% of our revenue. By the end of the week, lunch sales dropped by 75%.
The drop in sales was due to the provincial government’s decision to lay off 70% of my customers. Ten floors of government office space was immediately closed and vacated.
This forced me to make a drastic shift in the course of my business. If you have ever felt like you have been forced into a corner with limited options, I can empathize and relate to you.
I vowed to never let this happen again.
One Question to a Major Shift
What happened next is that I asked one question and made a key decision that forever changed the trajectory of my career:
What is the difference between large national companies that grow and thrive in any economy versus local small businesses?
I decided from that point forward to only work with industry leading companies and people.
Why settle for less with your career?
That question put me on the pathway to discovering how to lead large teams of people while optimizing business systems to deliver quality service.
Lead Early & Lead Well
Given that people are a key part of business success, I committed myself to discovering how to lead, inspire and motivate employees to provide consistent levels of outstanding service from hospitality to a variety of elite service businesses.
Knowing how to influence client buying habits and create corporate cultures that attract loyal clients became another exciting pursuit. In 2008, I started learning how to speak the language of Google and since have deployed innovative digital marketing strategies that have added significant value to the clients I serve.
I look forward to meeting you and hearing which question, or decision has been largely responsible for your success?
Cutting-edge strategies
At Samurai Innovation, We use cutting-edge strategies that leverage your potential and grow your business.
If you are like many of our clients, I know a few things about you. I know that you are someone of influence who wants to create a life of excellence. You are most likely a business owner, a top professional or a key leader in your organization. You are consistently striving to improve:
- your discipline & focus
- getting your goals done versus setting goals you never accomplish
- become the most productive person that you know
- working towards creating what I call Work/Life Harmony (much different than work life balance)
Samurai is basically translated as meaning
“to Serve and Attend”
By working with many of today’s leading brands, I quickly discovered how to apply corporate growth strategies and practices in a variety of business settings and industries to create highly profitable results. Using these systems, I have transformed several businesses from under performers to leaders of their industry.
I have managed teams of great people from 3 to 300 people.
I began my foray into entrepreneurship at a young age in my family's business. I also know what it is like to be on the corporate side of the business world. One key to business success is being able to combine the best practices from each and create transferable strategies designed to create real world results.
Managing start-up businesses, franchise business units and mature businesses with over $100 Million of gross revenue per year, I understand the unique challenges of being a producer and business leader within an organization whether it be at work, in the community or running your household.
